…..even if it isn’t real. For some reason, I woke up on cloud nine today. It probably had nothing to do with last nights events. Okay, whom am I fooling?
I read this book not too long ago because I felt that my dating skills were not up to par. Everyone knows I get way too emotional, I do crazy stuff and I am sure I say stuff that I shouldn’t say and defiantly at the wrong time. I found a book that would help me with all my problems, and I got cool little side emails.
One of the side emails, sent 2 weeks ago (note: during the time I wasn’t seeing Seth at his place of employment), talked about how to flirt a guy up. I thought to myself, “I’ve been flirting for years! I know how to do this.” Diving into the email, I realized how much I didn’t do. So, I decided to put it to the test.
Mission #1: Make eye contact and smile.
Friday evening: Mission was to spot Seth, make eye contact and smile. I went in for the kill and he looked at me and quickly looked at the floor. How am I supposed to make eye contact if he looks away? Failed.
Tuesday evening: Same mission. Seemed like he was just getting off work and talking to someone. He was standing there, I looked up and he wasn’t even looking at me. Better yet, I think he was making it a point not to look at me. Failed.
Wednesday evening: I figured, two times and I failed….no more! I walked in and during my workout, I kept my head down. After Rueben was showing me how I was doing and exercise all wrong, I got up from my seat, did a 180 and started walking….right towards Seth who wasn’t talking to anyone and wasn’t doing anything. I could feel him looking at me. So, I tried again….I lifted my head….Oh there’s the eye contact….There’s the smile…and there was even an exchange of ‘hey’s’. BINGO. Mission one: COMPLETE.
Yet, I was very unaware that 40 minutes later, mission two would start without me ever having to do any thinking about.
Hot neighbor, also known as Patrick, came strolling down one of the walkways on my way to stretch after a very painful (but wonderful) workout. I started a conversation with him talking about his girlfriend (they celebrated their one year), school and work. It wasn’t long before I noticed that Gym boy placed himself 8 feet from where I was talking to Patrick and started a conversation of his own. I couldn’t help but feel like he was partially watching and listening in on the interaction between hot neighbor and me. Somehow, without me even knowing it…
Mission #2: Smile at everyone. Make sure he knows that you are friendly to everyone so if he is interested and wants to talk – he know he won’t be rejected. COMPLETE!
