Cricket (dot dot dot)

So, when you have an animal you adjust...

Or your blinds adjust without you knowing it...
And then your animal acts innocent....or possessed....
You have new dinner guests....Or instead of dinner, you feel like your are getting the tail end of things.....
And when they finally think you are crazy for taking pictures of them....

I still say I am not a cat lover.....

The "L" Word - Part 2

I didn't feel rushed.

I knew, since the first day I came face to face with him, that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.

So...I didn't feel rushed.

Everything happens in its own timing and I felt like Chris saying the "L" word to me would come in its own time. I wasn't waiting for it and I was comfortable with the fact that it was easier for me to say that I loved him then it was for him to say it back. I have generally been impatient my whole life with these things but for some reason I knew that Chris loved me and respected the fact that he wanted to say it in his own timing.

Last Wednesday, after a pleather of restaurants we walked in and out of to find dinner, we settled on Chicago Pizza down at the beach. Post dinner, I found myself (which I do often) snuggling up to Chris on the other side of the booth giggling at his jokes and talking about our relationship (and how amazing it is). After one of his jokes, he slipped in and said, "I love you." I was shocked..floored even (probably cause I wasn't expecting it - it seemed so random). My only response was, "Really?" He said, "I wanted to say it on Sunday but couldn't find the timing - so yes, I really do." I looked deeply in his eyes (sorry about the gag factor) and repeated that I loved him.

And so there you have it....Part 2 of the "L" word. :)

Who are we? Really?

I often wonder what types of changes people go through to make them who they are today. Let's admit, most of the people that you see everyday, talk to everyday and sometimes share details about your personal life with (sometimes against your better judgement) has undergone major changes in their lives. But, whatever it is, whatever they have been through, it has made them who they are today.

I think back to the things that has shaped me as a person. The main thing that sticks out is my divorce and the pain that I had to go through. But, that's not the only thing. The shaping started earlier then that. If I had to pick the time frame I felt that I was starting to change as a person it had to be the multiple youth groups and activities I was involved in throughout high school. I think the years have been good to me and I am pretty content with the person I am.

I think about the stories that Chris has told me. I have promised not to share, but I look at how amazing he is now and can't help but thank God for what he has been through. It has shaped him to be the type of man he is now.

Good or bad, what happens to us (life experiences) mold us into the people that you see today. I know that I will look back over this blog, 10 years from now and think that I still had so much growing to do and how future events (that I don't even know about) has shaped me into the person I will be in the future.

Revenge is like....

This weekend I realized that all revenge is not bad revenge. I have always been one to step away from a "hot" situation and look at all the moving pieces. Most of the time I decide to let God take care of the situation. Besides, his revenge is better then any revenge that I can think up. But this time...I don't think God was watching!

Almost two weeks ago, I left the door unlocked for Chris to come in. It was our usual Wednesday night together and I was cooking dinner. I just got done working out and I thought that a shower would be appropriate. I hopped in the shower thinking, "Either Chris will be a good boy, let himself in and relax or he will come in and either hop in the shower with me or scare me." Well, he wasn't a good boy. He decided a little scare was just what I needed. His response, "You are lucky I didn't throw cold water on you." My response, "Yea, you are lucky you didn't. That would have been war!"

Chris, this weekend, found it funny to take a whole bowl (half filled with melted ice, the other filled with water) and toss it over my head during the nice, relaxing hot shower I was taking. Of course, I knew he was testing me to see what kind of war I wanted to start. So, revenge will be sweet...but sweeter if I can get some ideas on what to do!

Post away.....
